From Lana 2 Chun-Li
Smallville star Kristin Kreuk, aka Lana Lang, has been cast in the upcoming live-action film Street Fighter movie as Chun-Li
According to comingsoon.net,Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li starts filming in Thailand in March 2008.
LationReview got their paws on an early version of the script. Here are some spoiler-rific bits:
– The new flick centers on one character: Chun-Li. That’s it. No Ryu, no Ken, no Guile, no eight million characters.
– Chun-Li’s mother dies and now she has no one. She searches out a man called Gen and it is he who tells her that her father is actually still alive in the hands of Bison. Chun-Li then trains with Gen. She becomes faster! Stronger! She is…THE STREET FIGHTER!
– The movie is a revenge flick plain and simple. There’s some awesome kung-fu action in the script but there’s no fireballs. No sonic booms. No flash kicks. Pure and simple Chun-Li is on a mission to find her father and take down Bison.
Here’s to hoping they use the same costume!

P.S. I ... never mind ...
Kathy Bates, who plays Holly's mother, has her reasons for disliking Gerry and his letter-writing, but mostly seems pretty unsupportive of her grieving daughter. Thankfully, she's a strong enough actress to make it work. Other bit players are all equal parts high and low, Lisa Kudrow is 80% just playing Phoebe, for better or for worse, and Harry Connick Jr. is kind of quirky/sweet, but to be honest he made me uncomfortable.
Overall the movie is fine, but nothing more. It'll make you cry if you're into that sort of thing and it will probably make you roll your eyes at least a few times. To its merit, it doesn't go the easiest possible route with the ending, but along the way there are moments when it seems like the kindest gesture is just too intentionally heartbreaking. I'm sure there will be a few people who love this movie, but for most it's a love story that (like the bad karaoke in the film) just doesn't hit the right notes.
P.S. There is not nearly enough Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

Casting call fliers for a “Gossip Girl reality TV series” are currently being handed out in Manhattan neighborhoods. Spies over at TV Guide spotted fliers being handed out on the Upper West Side.
Here’s what the casting flier says:
“Are you the real Gossip Girl? Maybe an adorable Seth Cohen (The O.C.) prepster who hates TV? Either way, we’d love to chat with you. We’re looking for NYC prep-schoolers for a reality show [to air on] a major youth-oriented network.”

Gossip Girl Rundown: Episode 11, "Roman Holiday"
Thankfully, Jenny wasn't in it much either. She just bugs me.
I know you all are slightly more Team Serena, but the Blair/Dad/Dad's lover plot was sweet last night, right? Plus, since when is Waldorf mom such a sympathetic character? I didn't think I would ever like the parents on this show but, sigh, I guess I do.
So Vanessa got Dan the best Christmas gift ever: getting published in the New Yorker Fiction Issue. Um, suuuure. We'll just go with it. He's amazingly talented. Of course, Serena felt all one-upped so went out and bought him a fancy watch so he doesn't miss all his important meetings. He's kinda a jackass about it and won't accept the gift. Instead, they agree to stay under $50.
The Humphrey parent happiness didn't last too long. Just like that, Allison was terrible again and carrying on behind Rufus' back. I'm glad that she is once again on her way to Hudson (and off the show?), but the final scene with her was a little sad.
Seriously though, why was Dan reading his mom's mail out loud?
Meanwhile, how much do you want Mr. Waldorf and Mr. Waldorf's European lover to just move in with Blair and her mom. One big happy family! Blair was momentarily bratty, but mom saved the day. Yay Eleanor!
Chuck was getting a little racy with those text messages to Blair asking about how she faked her virginity and threatening to tell Nate.
Speaking of virginity on GG, Dan and Serena, eh? That snow room was pretty cool, but it actually ended up snowing. Way to steal Serena's (or, you know Vanessa's) thunder, Mother Nature.
Serena on Bart Bass: "He raised Chuck. That scares me."
Cliffhanger! Rufus is outside the van der Woodsen apartment in the freezing cold with no jacket semi-professing his love for Lily on her answering machine while inside Bart Bass was proposing to her. That seems a bit out of the blue since just a few episodes ago he was ignoring her, but okay! What's she going to do? And how angry is that going to make Chuck?
So, what did you think about the episode? Is Rufus a bit of a hypocrite? Is Eleanor Waldorf growing on you? Will Chuck tell Nate? Dan in the New Yorker? Is Vanessa getting better? And, seriously, how exciting does the two part episode starting on January 2 look? Amazing.

Swank loves Ireland
The romantic comedy is based on the Cecelia Ahern novel and also stars Scottish hunk Gerard Butler.
“We laughed so hard during the striptease scene,” Swank said. “Gerry was so funny because he was so nervous and wanted it to be funny but was afraid it wouldn’t be. But when that suspender swung across the room and hit my head it hurt so badly. I was laughing and crying at the same time because I couldn’t figure out what happened. Can you believe I did a boxing movie and came away unscathed and then I do a romantic comedy and this happens?”
Swank continued to sing high praises of her costar: “Oh, he is so wonderful. Gerry (Butler) is obviously a talent, but people don’t know him very well yet as a person because he is fairly new to the business. But he is just such a gem of a person, very funny and very charming. I would work with him forever, I adore him.”
Swank, 33, didn’t stay for the movie, reports say. She was seen exiting the Savoy Cinema with her assistant carrying a large popcorn and Coke back to her chauffeured car.

Penn wore cutie Calvin Klein underwear!
The trio dished the dirt on each other, revealing what they “really thought about each other.” Ed apparently is a musician and is part of a band back in the UK. Between the three of them, Penn is the biggest player, Ed watches the most chick flicks and Chace? Well, he got burned. He apparently spends the most time in front of the mirror, likes the worst music, tells the worst jokes and takes advantage of the most celebrity perks! Ouch!

Diamonds are Be's best friend!
Beyonce Knowles put on a festive red dress to celebrate the launch of Emporio Armani's Diamonds alongside Giorgio Armani himself at the designer's flagship store in Milan yesterday. As the scent's spokeswoman, B fulfilled her duties with a few simple poses and that big smile of hers. The straight hair seems a bit severe on B, I prefer her with a softer look, you? While she was there to support the fragrance, naturally Beyonce was wearing a few of the scent's namesake gems herself. Though, there's probably not a day that goes by where Beyonce's not decked out in diamonds to some extent.

Golden Spice
The Spice Girls glittered in gold at their first performance back in the UK on Saturday night. Becks and the boys were in the house once again to wave and cheer on their Posh Spice, and we have a feeling the energy was high with the rest of their loyal British fans (like Gordon Ramsay) as well. Injured Emma wasn't about to let her ankle get in the way of her homecoming and hobbled her way through the choreography. Overall, it looks like the ladies were greeted with a warm welcome and that they're still winning hearts of fans all over the world even after all these years.

Gossip Girl Bling!!!
This is how it all started: friends Vicki Beamon and Karen Erickson moved from Detroit to New York City in the '80s and quickly became quite the socialites. While working with a fashion designer on their catwalk show, they couldn't find someone to lend them jewels to accessorize the collection. Little did they know that having to string crystals and beads on suede would soon become their full-time jobs.Signature Erickson Beamon beaded necklaces, chandelier earrings, bracelets, and brooches, retailing for $228 up to $2,000, can be found at BlueBee and Net-a-Porter. Shopbop is currently holding an Erickson Beamon sale!

The Great Debaters!
The drama is based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College in Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school’s first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship.
