"GQ Magazine's profile of "Twilight" hunk Robert Pattinson in its April issue is one of the best celebrity interviews I've read in ages. Usually these things put me to sleep; same manufactured stories, nothing true or funny or slightly off-script.

Maybe this one is good because the writer is observant and witty, and he also writes about real fans' reactions to Rob during their lunch at La Conversation on Doheny Drive in West Hollywood. (About three blocks from my house!)

And it may be mostly because Rob is sweet, nervous, funny, honest and not at all media trained (yet).

You find out a lot about Rob's sex life (onscreen only, sorry), how he's terrified of interviews, how he slept with his dog when distraught over a cheating girlfriend, when he took his first Valium, doing it with a dude in “Little Ashes” and how he really spends his nights (not in hot L.A. clubs, but at home watching videos).

Here’s what Pattinson says about getting the part of Edward in "Twilight":

“I took half a Valium and then went into this thing — and all this stuff happened.”

“It was the first time I’ve ever taken Valium,” he tells GQ. “A quarter. A quarter of a Valium. I tried to do it for another audition, and it just completely backfired — I was passing out.”

And then there’s his new film, “Little Ashes," in which he plays artist Salvador Dali to Javier Beltrán's poet-playwright Federico Garcia Lorca and, naked, has graphic sex with a guy.

“In a lot of ways,” Pattinson admits “I was kind of crossing lines of what I thought I was comfortable doing. I had to do all this naked stuff.”

“There’s all these gay sex scenes. And y’know, I haven’t even done a sex scene with a girl, in my whole career. And here I am, with Javier, who plays Lorca, doing an extremely hard-core sex scene, where I have a nervous breakdown afterward. And because we’re both straight, what we were doing seemed kind of ridiculous.”

It gets worse. People were watching. People who spoke a different language. And they were laughing.

"And it wasn’t even a closed set," Rob moans. "There were all these Spanish electricians giggling to themselves.”

Poor Rob!"

Here is the Official list of Winners and the respective nominees on different categories of recently concluded Academy Awards 2009 which took place on Monday!

"On what we all knew was going to be a Slumdog night, it appeared that there would be no real surprises (unless you count Israel’s Waltz with Bashir losing to Japan’s Departures in the best foreign language category). Until, that is, Sean Penn won the award that was seemingly destined to be Mickey Rourke’s, for best actor. Both stars were certainly worthy, but according to that Oscar calculus which settles ties by choosing the actor who has been around the block but hasn’t collected a piece of hardware (and, in Rourke’s case, is fairly unlikely ever to be nominated again), it was at least a mild upset that the man who played Randy the Ram didn’t get the gold statue, especially considering his Golden Globe award and the massive wave of press attention given to his performance and its real-life parallels (even Nate Silver, everyone’s favorite predictions guru, whiffed on this one, as well as on best supporting actress). Perhaps Academy voters just weren’t interested in hearing another mumbled eulogy to all of Rourke’s dogs, but it was a shame to be deprived of the actor’s sublime weirdness on the Oscar stage, and for anyone who wanted to see Rourke win, Penn’s singling out of his peer at the end of his acceptance speech was a wan sort of consolation prize.

Despite the (relative) lack of surprises, the 81st Oscar ceremony was more engaging and entertaining than in recent years. Given the times, Hugh Jackman’s vaudevillian, sui generis turn as host felt like an appropriate replacement for Jon Stewart’s acerbic presenting style, and changes to the night’s format were (mostly) welcome. In particular, the decision to bring out five past winners to present the nominees in the acting categories nicely served to personalize the awards people care most about, ensure that all the nominees were recognized, and wrap up the proceedings in the full weight of Oscar history. (Meanwhile, the decision to sandwich the best actress and actor awards between best director and best picture, no doubt motivated by a desire to separate two awards that usually go to the same film, felt jarring.) Heath Ledger’s moment was touching, though a touch anticlimactic coming more than a year after his death, especially considering the crushing inevitability of the award. The more poignant moment involved another joker, the great Jerry Lewis, who won this year’s lifetime achievement honor, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award; though clearly impaired a litany of health concerns, the 82-year-old comic was still able to flash one of his instantly recognizable, endearingly pathetic dunce grins after finishing his mercifully brief speech.

Sean Penn provided one of the evening’s most heartfelt moments when he turned his acceptance into a plea to end the bigotry which led to the passing of Proposition 8 in California just as Milk hit theaters (a plea later echoed by Penn). The irrepressible Petit celebrated by making a coin disappear before the eyes of the Kodak Theater audience, then balancing the Oscar statuette on his nose. In vastly different but equally indelible ways, each brought a bit of magic to the movies in 2008." - VMAN

Here’s a sneak peek of Lindsay Lohan’s February 2009 feature for Interview Magazine. Here’s what the 22-year-old girlfriend of Samantha Ronson said:

On the public’s misconception of her: “I wanted to be a movie star [growing up]. But movie stars are not what they used to be. When I was a kid, I thought movie stars were women and men who were in these great films that we still look at now. But I don’t think there are too many films coming out these days that we’re going to look at in the future and say, ‘This is one of the great ones.’ Like, what is the great film that I will tell my children about? I’m still going to tell them about the old films, the Hitchcock films. And people my age don’t even know who those people are. I can’t even have a conversation with most people of my generation about that, because they’d be like, ‘Okay, she’s a freak. Something’s wrong with her.’ And the worst part is, in terms of what people see of me, I have become this girl who just loves to be photographed, doesn’t know how to focus, doesn’t know how to work on set, just loves the attention, knows how to go out at night, knows how to party.”

On being in Hollywood to act, not to become a celebrity: “I just feel as though it’s become a situation where people have manifested this caricature of who I am, and they act as if there’s no real person inside of it. I mean, people really have come to believe-directors, producers, agents, whoever it may be-that I started in this because I wanted to be a celebrity. But that was never my intention.”

On not getting the same opportunities as other actresses: “But it’s so impossible for me to actually [go someplace where no one knows me]. When I was in Dubai, there was still press lined up around the hotel. So I find it close to impossible to actually do that. I mean, it is what it is. This is what I asked for, and in this day and age that’s what actually goes on. But what hurts me the most is that I work just as hard as any other actress around my age, like Scarlett Johansson, but I just don’t get the opportunities that they get because people are so distracted by the mess that I created in my life. But that doesn’t mean it’s going to last forever.

The fall of America ’s sweetheart!? - "A Gentleman betrayed by his Quarterly"

Fetchies, I stand before you a Gentleman betrayed by his Quarterly. The Jennifer Aniston cover made me weep tears of molten iron. It's a dual tragedy: For starters, I have reason to believe that GQ may be having a mid-life crisis what with all their casual references to 'Asian whores' and the garishly done Megan Fox cover and secondly, the fall of Jennifer Aniston...woe is me! Woe to mankind.

Like any red-blooded male, I do enjoy eye-candy. Insert clause: as long as it is tastefully done. I shall refrain from talking about the Megan Fox travesty since her strategically placed tattoos and tales of teenage lesbianism do not a thing for me or anyone with an inherent sense of good taste. Now the Adriana Lima cover...wow...But I am digressing yet again!

I have always found Jennifer Aniston deliciously sexy, to the point where she became a sort of girlfriend ideal: the hip, armed with a disarming smile and witty rejoinder city girl who works at Ralph Lauren. So unlike the Gwyneths, Nicoles and Evas who bedazzle with their ethereal perfection, turning one's judgment to jelly. Jen had style but she was approachable, she was someone you could hang out with on the red carpet, as ludicrous as that may sound. The jeans, the sweaters, the hair, the ineffable charm that made men swoon. 'Had'. Past tense.

When did this happen?

Why did this happen?

Oh Jen! I miss you! Why do you insist on reinventing yourself as 'a cougar'? Why would you even associate yourself to something like that? You, who were radiant in that bundle of silliness called 'Rumour Has It', why do you want us to see you in this way? In this...*gulps*...trashy new avatar: denuded and nestled comfortably betwixt a bevvy of douchebaggy male models. And why would you say that Angelina Jolie is 'uncool' and that too now? You know what is truly 'uncool'? 'Uncool', that's what! Come back Jen, we miss the effervescent, affable you.

Annie Leibovitz reinvents Romeo and Juliet

Annie Leibovitz does it again! Oh the clothes - brilliant! Hey take a Shakespearean classic add some La Croix and why not an incredible posterior thanks to Roberto Bolle and you have pure, orgasmic art with epic proportions!
The photo spread stars Coco Rocha (love her!) and dancer Roberto Bolle (drool) as Romeo and John Lithgow (?).
Roberto Bolle the 33-year-old male ballet dancer has also made male modeling appearances for Salvatore Ferragamo and the Gap. But wait, there's more. He is also a goodwill ambassador for Unicef, and has his own touring dance group (Roberto Bolle and Friends will make its U.S. debut early next year at the Rose Theater in New York).The complete story appears in the December 2008 issue of Vogue, which features Jennifer Aniston on the cover.

Jonas Brothers & their busy week!

It was a good week for Jonas Brothers sightings, the Bros were recently seen in Britain (umbrellas in hand) along with super cute Demi Lovato… lets take a moment to analyze the clothes; Joe had the all American road trip look down… Kevin channeled the worst of the 70’s and Nick the youngest JB seemed to belong in a Burberry Catalogue!

Besides the clothes the JB’s have recently been at heads with Brit comic Russell Brand for the comments he made at MTV’s VMAs (about the purity rings)
Nick Jonas, 15, said, "I don't know if there is really a positive" to come out of Brand's comments, adding, "He was kind of running out of material after a little while."

The boys, who said earlier that they had no hard feelings over the British comic's comments, expressed even more affection for him. "I'd give him a hug," Joe said. "I think he needs a hug!"
Well I frankly feel that Russell really did run out of material and frankly is jealous that a band of teens make more money than him! Plus Joe has better hair than him (use a comb Russell!)

S&TC 2 !!!

A sequel to the Sex and the City movie is in the early stages of development, HBO confirms to Entertainment Weekly.

And why not? Since its debut in theaters at the end of May, the first spin-off movie from the series has racked up a ridiculous $345 million.

“We’re really heartened by the fans’ enthusiasm,” Michael Lombardo, president of HBO’s programming group, said at the cable network’s annual press tour in Los Angeles. “Absolutely, there is a lot of energy behind doing another SATC movie.”

However, the lead actresses ( Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis) aren’t rushing to do the sequel as to not risk disappointing their loyal fans.

To be honest I was amazed by the huge billboard poster outside Macy’s department store, but even more amazed by the amount of people who turned up to see it! I’m always surprised by the amount of attention certain things create, but the attention this campaign has created is pretty incredible. It was great to meet some of the people who’d come out especially though, I’ve always wanted to visit San Francisco, so it was a great to finally get there..."

JT "Plays" in Paris

Justin Timberlake assumes his role as the new face of Givenchy “Play” at the presentation of the brand’s new fragrance at Mini Palais on the Champs Elysees, Paris on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old singer/actor wore a pretty classy outfit including a two-toned blazer but opted for a a dirty, ratty pair of boots.

In movie news, Justin’s latest comedy, The Love Guru, wasn’t shown any love at the box office this past weekend. The film, which costarred Mike Myers and Jessica Alba, only raked in $14 million in ticket sales and trailed behind Get Smart, Kung Fu Panda and The Incredible Hulk.

Beckham honors Pele

David Beckham dines at Nobu after leaving Gotham Hall in New york City on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old soccer stud had attended the event sponsored by Major League Soccer (MLS) Works/World Soccer Foundation/Harlem Youth Soccer Street to Fields.

Becks had the honor of presenting the Achievement Award to 67-year-old Brazilian soccer legend Pele (born Edson Arantes Do Nascimento).

“For me to be here to present this to the greatest sportsmen of all time, I feel particularly honored,” the Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder said. “This absolutely is a highlight moment for me.”

Added Becks, “Soccer is a magical game. I’m very confident fans here in America will continue to see that. There’s no reason they can’t be as passionate about soccer as they are about every other sport here.”

Katie Holmes‘ foray into fashion is just around the corner as she will release her own clothing line called Katie Holmes for Armani, reports OK!

Using daughter Suri, 23 months, as inspiration, Katie’s first collection, out spring 2009, will be designed for toddlers.

But that’s not all! Mrs. Cruise, 29, will then create a line for older children for Fall 2009 and then women’s clothes and handbags for Fall 2010.

Katie Holmes For Armani will be available at department stores including Saks, Barney’s, and Neiman Marcus.

Halle Berry BABBBBBY!

Halle Berry gave birth to a baby girl at 10:17 am on Sunday morning at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

The baby weighed in at 7lbs 4oz and Halle, 41, is resting comfortable. This is the first child for Halle and boyfriend/model Gabriel Aubry, 32.

Halle has mentioned they’re not done yet. “There’s just one right now,” she said. “But we’re hoping, right after this one, to do it again!”

According to an insider for Star, “Halle was overcome with emotion when she finally held her little girl. She said everything she had gone through was worth that moment. The tears kept coming as Halle didn’t even want the nurses to take her baby to clean her up and measure. It was a truly beautiful scene.”

Congrats to Halle and Aubry! Can’t wait to see the little one!
